Reaching Your Audience in the Digital Age: Key Research Trends to Watch

Aaron Smith will share the Pew Internet Project’s most recent data on the constantly shifting digital ecosystem in the U.S. and highlight some major trends that have emerged since the project’s inception in 1999. Over that time, broadband has become a common household appliance, mobile gadgets have overtaken laptops and desktops in popularity, social media have changed the way we connect with others, and search engines have redefined how we learn about the world. Together, these trends have fundamentally transformed—in just over one decade—the way information is created, located, communicated, consumed, and shared.

Aaron will describe this digital landscape as it currently stands, and also share glimpses of what the next decade might bring, as new digital tools like apps and geolocation are added to the mix and as digital natives age into adulthood.
