CORRECTIONS:
- Oct. 26, 2023: A previous version of the bar chart “Shares of workers in an industry who are most likely see low exposure to AI” included one mislabeled category. “Retail trade” should have been included, at 20%, and the actual share for “Managerial and administrative services” was 45%.
- Jan. 25, 2024: A previous version of the graphic “Workers in more exposed industries see less risk for the U.S. economy from AI” included incorrect percentages. Among all working U.S. adults, 19% say that over the next 20 years, the use of artificial intelligence in the workplace will help more than hurt the economy; 36% say AI will equally help and hurt; 21% say it will hurt more than help; and 23% are not sure.
