Blogs on blogging

In the run up to the recent presidential election, bloggers and blogs were a hot topic in the news media. Even though Pew Internet Project data suggests that somewhere between 2 and 7% of internet users are keeping blogs, many more people (around 17% of internet users) are reading them. This level of readership and the fact that the Pew Research Center for People and the Press recently found that 41% of voters got campaign news from the internet suggests that blogs are emerging as an alternate source of information for some internet users.

For more information on blogs, where else to turn but other blogs? Two sites, Into the Blogosphere at the University of Minnesota and blogninja.com (home of BROG or Blog Research on Genre, research group at the University of Indiana), aggregate academic and other research on blogging. Notice in particular Blogninja’s “blog research links.”
