A new Pew Research Center report, released just before the 50th anniversary of  the civil rights rally in Washington, D.C., that included Martin Luther King’s historic “I Have a Dream” speech, finds that the gap between black and white Americans has narrowed on some measures (life expectancy, high school graduation rates) but widened on others (income).
