With only a little more vote counting left, the 2010 midterm elections are essentially concluded. Despite all the campaign ads, rallies, lawn signs, anger and enthusiasm, did the American public really see itself making a definitive statementin Tuesday’s election? As with much in politics today, the voters are split on the question. In a poll conducted in late October, voters were asked what electoral outcome would be best for the nation. A third (32%) said the GOP taking control of Congress would leave the country better off, while an equal percentage said it would be best for America if Congress stayed under Democratic control.
