Young people who are employed are mostly dissatisfied with the amount of money they make — just 31% say they earn enough money to lead the kind of life they want. As would be expected, young workers are less satisfied with their current income than are older workers. Among the employed, 46% of Gen Xers and 52% of Boomers are satisfied with the amount of money they make. However, young workers are more optimistic than older workers about their future earning power. Among Millennials who say they don’t earn enough money, 88% think they will be able to earn enough money to live the kind of life they wanted. This compares with 76% of Gen Xers and 46% of Boomers.
