Are your eyes getting a little heavy staring at that computer screen? If so, you may be among the 34% of Americans who take a nap on a typical day. More men than women catch some shut-eye during the day (38% to 31%), but the gender gap occurs almost entirely among older adults. While 41% of men ages 50 and older nap, only 28% of women in that age bracket do the same. There is no difference in napping habits between the sexes under the age of 50. Older Americans nap more, but only among the very old; all adults younger than age 80 nap daily at roughly the same rate.
