More than a quarter of internet users (26%) told an August 2006 Pew Internet Project survey that they have shared something online that they created themselves such as their own artwork, photos, stories or videos. Such interactive activities, along with many others such as blog writing, wiki contributing, social networking, web site creating, etc. are part of the loose aggregation of participatory online activities gathered under the rubric of Web 2.0.
