Two-thirds of American adults (66%) now have a high-speed broadband internet connection at home.
High-speed access to the internet at home has grown sharply in recent years and the “always on” connection typically increases the frequency with which people use the internet. More than eight-in-ten adults (85%) now say they use the internet.
In February 2001, when about half of adults were online, only 4% of American households had broadband access.
According to data collected in the spring of 2012, seven-in-ten whites and roughly half of African Americans (54%) and Hispanics (51%) have high-speed internet access at home. Read More
