Just over half (52%) of Americans say government regulation of business usually does more harm than good, although there are specific areas in which the public says regulation should be strengthened or at least kept the same.

Hispanics will account for the vast majority — 74% — of the 10.5 million workers added to the labor force between 2010 and 2020.

About half of Americans (51%) say the U.S. should stay neutral if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities to prevent it from developing a weapon. Nearly four-in-ten (39%) say the U.S. should support Israel.

Just under half (45%) of Americans agree that United Nations approval should be sought before using military force to combat international threats. In contrast, two-thirds or more of publics in Germany, Spain, Britain and France believe UN approval should be a prerequisite for action.

More than half (56%) of Latinos say they are dissatisfied with the direction of the country. Among the general public, 78% of are dissatisfied.

College remains a near universal aspiration in this country, even in the face of steeply rising costs. Among parents of a child ages 17 or younger, 94% say they expect their child (or children) to attend college.

Six-in-ten or more Republicans, Democrats and independents who know about the 2010 Supreme Court ruling that allows unlimited independent expenditures on political ads agree the new rules have had a negative impact on the 2012 presidential campaign.
