Half of Americans — a record high — say that the current Congress has accomplished less than recent predecessors.

Nearly three-quarters (73%) of mobile phone users who used their devices to contribute to relief efforts after the 2010 Haiti earthquake did so quickly, making their donations on the same day that they heard about the Text to Haiti campaign.

About four-in-ten (43%) Americans say that President Obama is a liberal, while 37% consider him to be “middle-of-the-road.” Just 13% describe him as conservative.

A majority (58%) of Americans say GOP leaders should try to work with President Obama to accomplish things, even if it disappoints some Republican supporters. Similarly, 59% say Obama should try to work with GOP leaders, even if it means disappointing Democratic supporters.

Today’s Millennials value parenthood far more than marriage. About half this group (52%) say that being a good parent is “one of the most important things” in life, compared to just 30% who say the same about having a successful marriage.

About two-thirds (66%) of the public say there are strong conflicts between the rich and the poor.

Israel has the highest percentage (53%) of adults who use social networking sites; the United States is a close second.

More than half (53%) of white evangelical Protestants view Mormonism as a non-Christian faith. This view is linked to opinions about Mitt Romney among this group.
