About half of Americans (51%) say the U.S. should stay neutral if Israel attacks Iran’s nuclear facilities to prevent it from developing a weapon. Nearly four-in-ten (39%) say the U.S. should support Israel.

College remains a near universal aspiration in this country, even in the face of steeply rising costs. Among parents of a child ages 17 or younger, 94% say they expect their child (or children) to attend college.

More than half (56%) of Latinos say they are dissatisfied with the direction of the country. Among the general public, 78% of are dissatisfied.

Just under half (45%) of Americans agree that United Nations approval should be sought before using military force to combat international threats. In contrast, two-thirds or more of publics in Germany, Spain, Britain and France believe UN approval should be a prerequisite for action.

Six-in-ten or more Republicans, Democrats and independents who know about the 2010 Supreme Court ruling that allows unlimited independent expenditures on political ads agree the new rules have had a negative impact on the 2012 presidential campaign.

Between 2008 and 2010, about one-in-five (22%) of all newlyweds in Western states married someone of a different race or ethnicity.
