Americans’ Views of the News Media During the COVID-19 Outbreak
More Americans hold positive than negative views of the news media’s COVID-19 coverage, but Republicans and Democrats remain starkly divided.
Across a range of political values – around race, gender and family, immigration and religion – there are stark contrasts between voters who support Donald Trump and those planning to vote for Joe Biden in November.
As the Senate impeachment trial gets underway, about half of Americans say Donald Trump should be removed from office. A 63% majority say Trump definitely or probably has committed illegal acts, either in office or while running for president.
Just 15% of Americans say they like the way that Donald Trump conducts himself as president, and 80% of the public describes Trump as “self-centered.”
