More than half of Americans are following election news closely, and many are already worn out
More than half of Americans (58%) say they are following news about candidates for the 2024 presidential election very or fairly closely.
About two-thirds of news coverage dealt with Biden’s policy agenda, while about three-quarters of early Trump coverage was framed around leadership skills.
There are more niche news outlet reporters than daily newspaper reporters on Capitol Hill. In the late 1990s, daily newspaper staff outnumbered niche reporters by more than two-to-one.
