We asked over 30,000 people what would help democracy work better in their country. Key themes in their responses were addressing basic needs and improving or rebuilding the political system.
Americans have generally positive views of Israel and its people. But their views of Israel’s government and Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu are more mixed.

Israelis are divided over the military response in Gaza, with Arabs much more likely than Jews to say it’s gone too far. Arabs’ and Jews’ views of many aspects of the war differ.
The share of the public that supports authoritarian systems ranges from 85% in India to 8% in Sweden.
33% of adults under 30 say their sympathies lie either entirely or mostly with the Palestinian people, while 14% say their sympathies lie with the Israeli people.
