Joe Biden has a positive job approval rating and draws confidence from majorities of the public on his ability to handle a range of issues, especially the coronavirus outbreak, according to a new Pew Research Center survey. Two-thirds of Americans say they are very or somewhat confident in Biden to handle the public health impact of the COVID-19 outbreak, while narrower majorities express confidence in him in other areas. By contrast, Americans are divided in their confidence in Biden to bring the country closer together.

Also, the survey finds that neither the Democratic Party nor the Republican Party is viewed favorably by a majority of Americans. 47% of Americans have a favorable view of the Democratic Party, while 38% have a favorable view of the GOP.
