The three older surveys were conducted by telephone, but the 2023-24 Religious Landscape Study (RLS) was completed mainly online and on paper. This “mode shift” affects the results of some survey questions. Analysis of an experimental telephone survey conducted alongside the 2023-24 RLS indicates that it is safe to make the comparisons shown here. Refer to Appendix A of the 2023-24 RLS for more details.
