Susannah Fox is an associate director at the Pew Research Center’sĀ Internet & American Life Project. She directs the health research portfolio as well as the project’s digital strategy. She combines traditional survey research with fieldwork in online patient communities, with a particular focus on people living with rare and chronic conditions. She is the former editor of the website for U.S. News & World Report magazine and was a researcher at RealNetworks during its start-up phase. She graduated from Wesleyan University with a degree in anthropology. She is the author of Mobile Health 2012, Peer-to-Peer Healthcare, and The Social Life of Health Information, 2011. She is a frequent speaker on the social impact of technology, particularly on health and health care, and she contributes to the e-patients.net blog.
