Most American adults use a cell phone (83%), and 43% of cell-phone users have the capability of downloading and using software applications (known as “apps”). But just because they can, doesn’t mean they do.Only 29% of all cell-phone users have downloaded an app to their phone. Far more adult cell phone owners use their phones to take pictures (76%) and text message (72%), but app downloading is roughly as common as playing music (33%) or recording a video (34%) on a cell phone.
