How U.S. Muslims are experiencing the Israel-Hamas war
Seven-in-ten Muslim Americans say they think discrimination against Muslims has risen in the United States since the Israel-Hamas war began.
A new Pew Research Center study of the ways religion influences the daily lives of Americans finds that people who are highly religious are more engaged with their extended families, more likely to volunteer, more involved in their communities and generally happier with the way things are going in their lives.
Compared with most other Jewish Americans, Orthodox Jews on average are younger, get married earlier and have bigger families. They also tend to be more religiously observant and more socially and politically conservative.
With a Mormon candidate in the race for the 2012 GOP presidential nomination, there has been intense media, academic and public interest in Mormons and their religion. The Pew Forum recently held a roundtable discussion with journalists, scholars and policy experts on some of the latest research on Mormons and their place in American society and public life.
In a conference call with journalists, Pew Forum staff members discussed the findings of a Pew Forum survey, Mormons in America: Certain in Their Beliefs, Uncertain of Their Place in Society. The survey examines Mormons’ religious beliefs and practices, political ideology, and attitudes toward their faith, family life, the media and society.
