Optimists About Housing Prices


As recently as June, more than six-in-ten Americans (62%) still expected U.S. housing prices to continue to rise.

Despite already extensive news coverage of weakness in the housing market, a substantial majority of Americans in a June Pew Research Center survey said that they expected housing prices to continue their rise of recent years; on the other hand, nearly two-in-three among the public rated the current economy as “only fair” (40%) or “poor” (25%) compared with 33% who rated it “good” or “excellent.” Read More
