Americans differ over how important it is for political candidates they support to share their personal traits
66% of U.S. adults say it is extremely or very important that candidates share their views on political issues.
Generational differences have long been a factor in U.S. politics. These divisions are now as wide as they have been in decades, with the potential to shape politics well into the future.
As states around the country debate laws regarding access to the ballot – ranging from automatic voter registration to voter ID requirements – most Americans back making it easy for all citizens to vote. But they overwhelmingly reject the idea of requiring people to vote.
