Americans lean toward regulations – not economic markets alone – as the most effective way to increase reliance on renewable energy, but they are evenly split on whether fewer regulations can protect air and water.
Assuming all of President-elect Donald Trump’s Cabinet nominees are confirmed, he will have one of the most heavily business-oriented Cabinets in U.S. history. Five of the 14 people Trump has nominated to be Cabinet secretaries have spent their entire careers in the business world, with no public office or senior military service on their resumes.
Just five states – Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Missouri and Texas – accounted for all 20 executions in the U.S. in 2016.
Today, 57% of U.S. adults say use of marijuana should be made legal, while 37% say it should be illegal. A decade ago, opinion was nearly the reverse.
