A year later, a look back at public opinion about the U.S. military exit from Afghanistan
Here’s how people in the U.S. and elsewhere have viewed the troop evacuation and its aftermath, and their broader attitudes about the war.
About a third of adults (32%) say the U.S. is providing about the right amount of support for Ukraine, while a larger share (42%) says it should be providing more support; just 7% say it is giving Ukraine too much support.
65% of Americans say Hamas bears a lot of responsibility for the current conflict, compared with 35% who say this about the Israeli government.
The public is sharply divided by party, even as most support international cooperation and large majorities say it is important that the U.S. is respected around the world.
U.S. adults give high marks to South Korea and Germany’s pandemic responses. In contrast, most believe China has done an only fair or poor job.
