Facebook, Twitter play different roles in connecting mobile readers to news
Facebook sends by far the most mobile readers to news sites of any social media site, while Twitter mobile users spend more engaged time with news content.
About a third (34%) of postings on Twitter about Hurricane Sandy consisted of news and information about the storm from a wide range of sources.
About one-in-five internet users now say they use Twitter or another similar service, up from 11% in April.
