Latinos say they and their loved ones have faced widespread job losses and serious illness due to COVID-19. Yet satisfaction with the nation’s direction is at highest level in a decade as most say the worst of the pandemic is behind us.
Just half of Americans (52%) say they trust all or most of their neighbors, while a similar share (48%) say they trust some or none of their neighbors. Neighborly trust also varies between demographic groups.
The nation’s 11.9 million unauthorized immigrants are more geographically dispersed than in the past, according to a new demographic and geographic analysis of this group that includes population and labor force estimates for each state.
