Welcome to Pew Research Center. You have been selected to participate in an important national survey we are conducting that explores the role of religion in the lives of black Americans. We are interested in your views, even if you are not particularly religious yourself.

This survey is part of an ongoing project by Pew Research Center that has included a detailed look at race in the U.S., shorter analyses exploring differences in religion between men and women and across age groups among black Americans, and a series of conversations done in partnership with the National Museum of African American History and Culture. The survey features an advisory board of experts in the study of black communities in the U.S., including scholars, religious and community leaders, and survey researchers.

In the past, Pew Research Center also has conducted surveys about many different topics among many groups in American society, including Hispanics, Asian Americans, Jews, Muslims and Catholics.

This survey is being conducted online with partners at Westat, one of the nation’s largest and most trusted survey interviewing organizations. To complete the survey, please go to www.PewResearchStudy.com and enter the password provided in your letter or postcard.

Thank you!
