# Most Have Favorable View of Michelle Obama

Michelle Obama remains popular, with 64% of voters viewing the first lady favorably and just 24% viewing her unfavorably, according to a survey done this June.

By comparison, Laura Bush was viewed more favorably (74%) during her husband’s run for reelection in August 2004, while Hillary Clinton was viewed less favorably (50%) in April 1996.

Michelle Obama is viewed favorably by nine-in-ten Democratic registered voters (91%) and 59% of independents.Republican opinion is divided (39% favorable, 45% unfavorable). Among conservative Republican voters, more view Michelle Obama unfavorably (50%) than favorably (36%).
