# Nearly Every Young Adult Owns a Cell Phone

Just about every young American adult owns a cell phone. Among adults ages 18 to 29, an overwhelming 96% possesses a cell phone of some kind. While the youth record is especially impressive, cell phone ownership is near universal among all age groups. This includes nearly all adults younger than age 65 and about six-in-ten (58%) adults ages 65 and older.
