# Greatest Threat to Pakistan: India

Most Pakistanis have a negative opinion of al Qaeda and the Taliban, but a majority sees their neighbor and long-time rival India as the greatest threat to their country. When asked who is the biggest threat to Pakistan, 53% choose India, compared with 23% for the Taliban and just 3% for al Qaeda. In addition, 74% of Pakistanis see India as a threat to their country, while just half see the Taliban as a threat (54%) and only 38% say the same about al Qaeda. But while many Pakistanis see India as an enemy, a similar proportion feel it is important to work with their largest adversary. Fully 72% say that it is very or somewhat important that relations between the two countries improve. Furthermore, 76% support further talks with India and 77% want better economic ties.
