# Text Me

Text messages, sent via cell phone, have become the most common form of interaction between teenagers. Fully 72% of all teens text, 54% do so daily, and some text at quite the pace. One in three teens sends more than 100 text messages a day, which means they will send more than 3,000 texts in a month. Half of all teens send over 50 texts in a day and 15% send more than 200 text messages in a single day. One in five teens, however, manages to get by with only 10 texts a day. Girls send and receive more texts (typically 80 a day) than do boys (30 a day) and older teens send more than younger teens. Girls ages 14 to 17 are the most prolific texters, sending on average around 100 text messages a day. [Read More](https://www.pewresearch.org/pubs/1572/teens-cell-phones-text-messages)
