# Interest Gap

Since early 2007, Democrats have consistently followed campaign news more closely than have Republicans, and if anything the gap is widening. In June, 55% of Democrats were following campaign news “very closely,” compared with 44% of Republicans. The end of the historic Democratic primary has done nothing to close the interest gap.
