At the statehouse, ideological press tries to fill a void in news coverage
When the bottom fell out of the news industry during the recession, many newspapers cut their reporting power in statehouse press rooms.

Jodi Enda is an award-winning journalist with decades of experience covering national politics, government and the media. As a reporter for the Philadelphia Inquirer and Knight Ridder Newspapers, she covered the White House, Congress, presidential campaigns and national news. She also has edited major projects for newspapers and magazines, conducted media training and spoken internationally on politics, policy and the media.
Enda has won awards for investigative reporting, deadline reporting, White House coverage and media reporting. In 2013, she won the prestigious Mirror Award for best in-depth/enterprise reporting.
