# Participatory Research

Susannah Fox will conduct a 90-minute Master Class on participatory research as part of the 3-day [Stanford Medicine X conference ](http://medicinex.stanford.edu/)to be held September 27-29, 2013. The final curriculum will be shaped by the learners themselves through their course applications, but tentatively includes:

- What is participatory research? What can you learn when you listen more than ask?
- Models of participatory research, a description of the process.
- Participatory vs. conventional research: setting the agenda, ownership of results, power and control.
- Problems and challenges of participation-based research.
