# Illness in the age of “e”

Dave deBronkart was diagnosed with an aggressive form of cancer in 2007 and told the median survival time was 24 weeks. He engaged every tool and resource at his disposal, both online and offline, to beat the disease. He and his primary care physician, Danny Sands, presented his case study last month at the [Connected Health Symposium](http://www.connected-health.org/events/past-events/symposium-2008.aspx).
