# Doctor-directed Health Resources

This morning's NPR story, ["Patients Turn to the Internet for Health Information,"](http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=15166387) featured data from our [e-patients report](https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/PPF/r/222/report_display.asp), but also some research that has been conducted at the [Center for Health Enhancement Systems Studies](http://chess.chsra.wisc.edu/Chess/home/home.aspx) (CHESS) at the University of Wisconsin. CHESS researchers Robert Hawkins and Suzanne Pingree talked about how breast cancer patients in their study seemed to benefit from being directed to doctor-approved health information online.

If you are interested in learning more about such doctor-directed health information sources, I recommend looking into the [Center for Information Therapy](http://www.informationtherapy.org/), as well as some health search engines, like [Organized Wisdom](http://organizedwisdom.com/Home), [Kosmix](http://www.kosmix.com/health), [Healia](http://www.healia.com/healia/), [Healthline](http://www.healthline.com/), [Mamma Health](http://www.mammahealth.com/),and [Medstory](http://www.medstory.com/).
