# Neighborhood Scouts

Kevin Delaney's [Wall Street Journal article](http://online.wsj.com/article/SB118584306224482891.html?mod=todays_us_nonsub_marketplace) about small businesses' use of aerial mapping services reminded me of some other online tools that can be used on a computer, or increasingly, on a cellphone. Armchair scouts can check out how many [cafes](http://city.ask.com/city?msid=38096f7967e540e7e10429225d2e7c24&msuserid=286fbe7608d2a3fe041c05f0b4e31943) are near Dupont Circle or how much a [house](http://www.housefront.com/) might sell for in a certain neighborhood.
