# California Screamin’

55% of adult Internet users – or 34% of all American adults – have a high-speed connection at home or at work. Home broadband adoption has spiked 60% in the past year. (See [”Broadband Penetration on the Upswing”](https://www.pewresearch.org/internet/pdfs/PIP_Broadband04.DataMemo.pdf))

Although only 4% of people who made the switch to broadband at home cited entertainment as the primary motivation, they may change their minds after seeing what [Discovery.com](http://www.discovery.com) is doing these days in their dedicated [broadband section](http://media.highspeed.discovery.com/index.html). My favorite was a ride in the front seat of a rollercoaster called California Screamin’. Sure, I’m stuck at my desk today, but for a couple minutes I was vicariously lurching and leaning in Disneyland.
