A majority of American adults (55%) have accessed the internet via a wireless connection at least on occasion. Some 46% of adults now own laptops and among them 83% connect via WiFi while 28% connect via wireless broadband. More than eight-in-ten adults have cell phones or smartphones, and among this group 35% have signed online via their phones. As is the case with those who go online, the young, educated and wealthy are the most likely to be wireless internet users. However, unlike among general internet users, blacks (59%) and Hispanics (62%) are more likely to have accessed the internet wirelessly than whites (52%). Read More
