A majority (53%) of all Muslim Americans say that, since the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, it has become more difficult to be a Muslim in the United States, a view that is especially prevalent among highly educated and wealthier Muslims. Nearly two-thirds of U.S. Muslims (65%) who have attended graduate school, and 68% of those with household incomes of $100,000 a year or more, say 9/11 has made it harder to be a Muslim.
