Ziyao Tian is a research associate of race and ethnicity research at Pew Research Center. She is an expert on the socioeconomic profile and views of the U.S. Asian population. Her research expertise extends to race and ethnicity, social stratification and inequality, economic sociology, education, and immigration. Tianโ€™s notable research on Asian Americans has gained her the 2021 IPUMS Excellence in Research Award and an Honorable Mention of the Nan Lin Paper Award from the International Chinese Sociological Association. Her scholarly work has been published in academic journals such as Socio-Economic Review and Research in Social Stratification and Mobility. Ziyao Tian received her Ph.D. in Sociology from Princeton University.
