Americans, across party lines, would rather take military action against Iran to prevent that country from obtaining nuclear weapons than avoid war with the Middle Eastern country. Fully 61% of Americans say preventing Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is more important than avoiding military conflict with a nuclear-armed Iran. Only 24% of Americans say avoiding military conflict is more important. Support for military action in the face of a nuclear Iran includes 71% of Republicans, 51% of Democrats and 66% of independents.
