‘Old-Boy’ Bottleneck

When respondents were asked in a Pew Research Center survey to evaluate a series of potential reasons why there are not more women in top level business positions the two factors most frequently cited were the “old-boy network” (49%) and the fact that women haven’t had access to corporate America long enough to rise to the top (44%). Many respondents also said that women’s family responsibilities don’t leave time for running a major corporation.
