Jon Cohen is vice president for research. Before joining the Pew Research Center, he was general manager and polling director of Capital Insight, a polling company he established at The Washington Post. Cohen previously was polling director and polling editor at the Post and assistant director of polling at ABC News. He also served as associate survey director at the Public Policy Institute of California, was a founding employee at a technology start-up in Pleasanton, California. He serves on the American Association for Public Opinion Research’s task force on emerging technologies and recently served as the organization’s communications chair. His work has appeared in Public Opinion Quarterly and other publications. Cohen has a master’s degree in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and is a graduate of Johns Hopkins University and its School of Advanced International Studies.
