Jessica Hamar Martínez is a research associate at the Pew Research Center’s Forum on Religion & Public Life. She contributes to the Forum’s polling on religion in the U.S., with a particular emphasis on religion and the Latino community. Prior to joining the Pew Forum, Martínez worked as a project manager at the Center for the Study of Latino Religion and the Center for the Study of Religion and Society, both at the University of Notre Dame. Martínez is a doctoral candidate in the department of sociology at the University of Arizona, where she also received her master’s degree in sociology. She is a contributing author of Pew Research Center reports such as Latinos, Religion and Campaign 2012 and When Labels Don’t Fit: Hispanics and Their Views of Identity.
