US: Castro Was Bad for Cuba

Fully two-thirds of Americans (66%) think that Fidel Castro, who resigned as president of Cuba this week, has been bad for his country.

Americans have an overwhelmingly negative view of Fidel Castro, who resigned as president of Cuba this week, with two-thirds (66%) saying he has been bad for Cuba and just 15% saying he has been good; but opinions in others of the nine countries surveyed in the hemisphere are more mixed with pluralities in Canada, Bolivia, Argentina, Brazil and Peru saying Castro had a positive effect on Cuba.
