Brazil Most Concerned about Global Warming

Nearly every Brazilian (92%) considers global warming to be a very serious problem.

Majorities in 14 of 24 countries rate global warming as a very serious problem, with Brazil (92% say it is a serious problem) the most concerned of any country surveyed. Anxiety about global warming in America (42%) is among the lowest registered; only in Jordan, Egypt and China do smaller numbers call it a serious problem. When asked which country is “hurting the world’s environment the most,” majorities or pluralities in most countries surveyed cite the United States. But people are increasingly pointing fingers at China as well. The poll also finds that publics in 10 of the 24 countries surveyed have the most confidence in Germany to do the right thing in protecting the world’s environment. Read More
