Trump’s approval ratings so far are unusually stable – and deeply partisan
About four-in-ten Americans (38%) approve of Donald Trump’s job performance, while 59% disapprove, our recent survey found.
As debates over abortion continue in states around the country, a majority of Americans (61%) continue to say that abortion should be legal in all (27%) or most (34%) cases.
Neither party has an edge in favorability among the public
Americans continue to have positive views of the nation’s economy, though views are split by party. Most Republicans and half of Democrats rate their personal finances positively.
Democratic voters report high levels of satisfaction with the Democratic candidates as a group. The election also is attracting more interest than past elections did at similar points in the cycle.
Majorities of Americans say the tone of political debate in the country has become more negative, less respectful, less fact-based and less substantive in recent years.
